The British Election Study is recruiting two new post-doctoral positions: a Research Associate and a Research Fellow.
Both contracts run from 1 October 2023 (or as near as possible thereafter) until 31 January 2026. Closing date for applications is midnight on 28 June 2023.
Both positions will be based in the Department of Politics within the School of Social Sciences at the University of Manchester. The University of Manchester values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
The appointee will facilitate high quality research using the British Election Study alongside Professor Fieldhouse and the BES Scientific Leadership Team. Duties will include contributing to a programme of original research using the BES; data analysis for inclusion in BES publications; public dissemination of BES research including conferences and events; data management; assisting with survey design; creating material for the BES website; supporting website maintenance; and assisting with events. The post offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the British Election Study.
The Research Associate position would be ideal for someone who is finishing or has recently finished a PhD. The more senior Research Fellow position would be ideal for someone who has some post-doctoral experience. Nevertheless, it is possible to apply for both roles if you are unsure which is the best fit for your experience.
Please note that the Research Associate post is an extension to a previous deadline: the closing date for both posts is now 18 July. If you have previously applied for the Research Associate Post, you may still apply for the Research Fellow post. Applications received for the previous deadline will be considered alongside all applications after the new closing date.
