BES 60th Anniversary Lecture

The British Election Study has been running since 1964. To celebrate its 60th year the BES Director, Professor Edward Fieldhouse (University of Manchester) will give a lecture, in London on 9 September.

The lecture, entitled, ‘Realignment? Election 24 and the shadow of Brexit. Lessons from 60 years of the British Election Study, will look back at political highlights of the past 60 years and provide new insights into the 2024 general election.

The Anniversary Lecture and Drinks Reception will take place at the British Academy from 6pm on Monday 9 September, and ITV News, Deputy Political Editor, Anushka Asthana will host.

Professor Edward Fieldhouse said:

The British Election Study always has and will continue to help us understand the complexities of British general elections. Analysing data, over time and being able to make comparisons enables BES data users to gain valuable insights into political attitudes and behaviour. I am honoured to give our 60th Anniversary Lecture.”
